On-Track Action

The F1 cars will be on track for around 6 hours over the course of the weekend, beginning with the first 90-minute practice session (FP1) at 1pm on Friday and culminating with the main event on Sunday, which starts at 4.10pm. F1 Qualifying takes place from 5-6pm on Saturday. The only other on-track action in Baku this year comes courtesy of Formula 2, which will stage practice, qualifying and two races; a longer feature race on Saturday from midday and a shorter sprint race on Sunday from 1.10pm. It’s definitely worth getting there early for the Formula 2 races as the racing features lots of close battles! Please note that the event schedule is subject to change. baku crystal hall grand prix concerts

Concerts at Crystal Hall

The organizers in Baku have followed the lead of Singapore, Abu Dhabi and USA in signing up some big-name performers for the Grand Prix concerts in Baku. Sam Smith was set to headline Saturday's concert this year, but has had to pull out at the last minute due to illness and is being replaced by Jessie J, while Cardi B headlines on Sunday  The concerts are now held at the impressive Crystal Hall, which was first used when Azerbaijan staged the Eurovision song contest back in 2012. Crystal Hall is not that far from the circuit; it’s possible to walk there along the Bulvar (waterfront promenade) in around 1 hour, or you can take a free ferry or shuttle bus offered by the organizers. The Crystal Hall gates open at 18:30; on Saturday, Jessie J takes to the stage around 21:00 and on Sunday, the Cardi B concert starts at approximately 22:00.
