We are excited to announce that reigning Formula 2 champion George Russell will be joining us at the 2019 German Grand Prix. The rising star of British motorsport will be making a special guest appearance in the Champions Club at the Hockenheimring this July.
George Russell Biography
After taking up karting at age 8, Russell became a two-time CIK-FIA European Champion before switching to single-seater cars in 2014. He immediately found success in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, winning five races and taking the title in his maiden year.
Russell spent the next 2 years in FIA Formula 3, where he recorded three race victories. Before graduating to GP3 in 2017, Russell was signed up to the junior driver programme of the Mercedes Formula 1 team.
Just like Charles Leclerc before him, Russell won both the GP3 and Formula 2 titles – the main stepping stones to Formula – in the last two years, and at his first attempt. His dominant performances over the last two years have marked him out as a future World Champion. Russell made his Formula 1 debut for Williams at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix.
