Highlights of our Weekend at Sochi Autodrom

With insider access at the state-of-the-art Sochi Autodrom, opportunities to meet F1 drivers and great views of the on-track action, it was a weekend to remember for our guests at the Russian Grand Prix.

The Russian Grand Prix weekend began for our Fan Experience package holders on Thursday evening with an Exclusive Pit Lane Walk, Drive the Track Tour and photo with the Championship trophies on the Main Straight. Our guests were able to see several teams doing pit stop practice and enjoyed some beautiful golden light during their Drive the Track Tour as the sun set on a beautiful day at Sochi Autodrom.

Insider Access to the F1 Paddock on Friday evening included visits to the Pirelli Tyre tent and McLaren garage, photos on the Formula 1 podium and a meeting with Safety Car driver Bernd Mayländer. Several guests jumped at the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Mercedes AMG GT R, the fastest safety car in the sport’s history!

Our Friday evening programme concluded with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the exclusive surrounds of the Formula 1 Paddock Club, where we were joined by McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne! After a Q&A with James O’Brien, Stoffel stayed around for some photos, including our traditional group selfie!

Our Fan Experience ticket package holders enjoyed the panoramic views from the modern grandstands at Sochi Autodrom, including the Main, Turn 2 and Turn 4 Grandstands. With record attendance this year, the trackside atmosphere was electric!

From gourmet cuisine and open bars to stunning trackside views above the pits as well as additional benefits such as daily Pit Lane Walks, our guests in the Formula 1 Paddock Club™ made the most of their privileged access at Sochi Autodrom. Legend Ticket Package holders also enjoyed a Private Podium Visit on Saturday and special access to the post-race podium on Sunday.

On track, Valtteri Bottas qualified on pole position and looked to be on track for the win before his Mercedes team asked him to move over for teammate Lewis Hamilton, who recorded his third victory in succession and extend his Championship lead to 50 points over Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel. On his 21st birthday, Max Verstappen drove a storming race from 19th on the grid to finish in 5th, while Ferrari-bound Charles Leclerc finished in a strong 7th place for Sauber. Next up, we are headed to Suzuka for the Japanese Grand Prix!
