Your guide to Montreal's must-sees and the best places to eat and drink in this lively North American city with a decidedly European vibe. The 2020 Canadian Grand Prix is on 11-14 June.
In addition to the aforementioned Montreal Fringe Festival (10-21 June), there’s plenty of festivals and events taking place in the city in the summer, many of which coincide with Grand Prix weekend. The Mural Festival (1-30 June) is a celebration of urban art, featuring live art, music, exhibitions and artist talks near St Laurent Blvd and at various venues throughout the city. Francophiles should head to the Quartier des Spectacles for Francos de Montréal (11-20 June), an annual music festival featuring a huge array of French-language artists, including lots of free shows. Finally, dance music lovers can check out Oasis Montreal at Esplanade du Parc olympique, a festival of electronic beats featuring headline shows by Nicky Jam, Tchami & Carl Cox on Grand Prix weekend.
