Here’s your trackside guide to Silverstone for the 2019 British Grand Prix, including the full on-track schedule, information on concerts and other activities happening this year at the 'home of British motorsport'.
The organisers do a great job of keeping fans hydrated, fed and entertained at the British Grand Prix! The main F1 Fanzone, located between the Abbey and Luffield Corners, offers the best range of merchandise, plus plenty of interactive challenges. The nearby Entertainment Zone has a giant wheel, concert stage (see below) and a good selection of food and drink stalls. A Family Zone is also located behind the National Pits Straight Grandstand, next to the Champions Club by F1 Experiences. The concert stage at Silverstone has headline acts on across the weekend, including Razorlight on Friday night, Craig David on Saturday night and Soul II Soul on Sunday night. The drivers will also be making an appearance on the big stage after the race on Sunday.
The Formula 1 action kicks off with the first practice session on Friday morning from 10:00-11:30. A second 90-minute session is held on Friday afternoon from 14:00-15:30. After the third practice session on Saturday from 11:00-12:00, qualifying takes place from 14:00-15:00 on Saturday afternoon. The main event – the Formula 1 2019 Rolex British Grand Prix – begins at 14:10 on Sunday afternoon.
The British Grand Prix offers a packed schedule of support races, with on-track action beginning on Thursday afternoon. In addition to the main feeder categories of Formula 2 and Formula 3, both of which offer lots of close racing and a very competitive field of young drivers, there will also be Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Masters Historic racing at Silverstone this year, along with several demonstrations of historic F1 machinery and Formula 1 Pirelli Hot Laps.
Please note that the event schedule is subject to change. Please check Formula1.com for the latest version of the schedule.
